Hopi Elders Speak

As you may be aware, I co-organized the Grandmothers Speak event this past October, and had the opportunity to actually speak with and listen to 8 of the 13 Indigenous Grandmothers Council.  They truly filled me with hope.  They are committed to change the consciousness of our world through BEING PEACE.  They represent diversity at its finest!    One of the gifts that came from organizing this event was lots of information from all over - everyone wanted to share what knowledge they had, to be part of this life enhancing happening.  I received a prayer from the Hopi Elders, entitled Hopi Elders Speak.  It feels so right on to me -- like when something rings so true you can feel it within your entire body -- thats what I feel when I read this.  I hope it inspires you too!

Hopi Elders Speak:
"You have been telling people that this is the eleventh hour.  Now you must go back and tell the people that this is the hour.  And there are things to be considered:
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your garden!
It is time to speak your truth.  Create your community.  Be good to each other.  And do not look outside yourself for the leader.  This could be a good time!
There is a river flowing now very fast.
It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.
They will try to hold onto the shore.  They will feel they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly.  Know the river has its destination!
The Elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open and our heads above the water.  See who is in there with you and celebrate!
At this time in history we are to take nothing personally.  For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.  The time of the lone wolf is over.  Gather Yourselves!  Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration!
We are the ones we've been waiting for."

So, with that bit of wisdom comes choices...  Can you let go and trust that the Universe has your best interest at heart and you are always taken care of, or are you going to hold onto the thoughts and beliefs that may not serve you??  Its up to you.  My dream is that we all bathe in the river and celebrate the rightness and goodness of this world!  -- Janet
